this is many years back in time now but i am still just as much in love with her blog.
It was through reading her blog posts that i first heard of poets that i today
highly cherish and when i think back now i also see that she has been one of the persons that
awakened my deep interest for poetry....
Odessa has also introduced me to such wonderful books, movies and music through these years.
Her reflections inspires me and very often i can deeply relate to what she shares.
In her latest blog post Odessa writes:
"I've also started keeping a daily to-do list of (at least) 2 things that makes me happy. Something like: write a letter, take a nap, walk to the library. Just little things. And I must say that it really does make a difference at the end of each day."
I find these words so true and important!!! It truly IS these small things that makes the difference at the end of each day.
I have a little notebook where i, at the end of each day, write down what these small things have been through the day. This makes me more aware of what it is that actually makes me happy AND it also makes it easier to both choose to notice AND focus on what that is good and positive in my life.....it makes me grateful.......*smiling*...
Today's happiness (so far):
-Sunshine
-Not -24 celsius anymore..brrrr....only about -14 now
-"Kjøttmeis" eating at the bird feeders, i LOVE their colors!!
-Enjoying the lovely feeling of waiting for a parcel in the post....*smiling*...
-Drinking a cup of delicious hot chocolate together with a dear friend of mine.
What has yours been today?

Oh, yes. Odessa's blog does speak to you. Thanks for sharing, dear! Sending you warm wishes. Our temps are supposed to start dropping next week. I would be happy if it brought some snow with it. So much better than the dreary weather. It does make for good reading time. Much love to you.

ReplyDeleteyes, the small things makes the difference
years ago a friend and I did more or less the same
she was a bit depressed and to cheer her up
we decided to write down only the good things
every day for a month
it became her best month since a long time
and she didn't do things different
just focused on the fine ones
love

What did I do today and yesterday to make me happy? I thought of you and that made me happy, wrote you a little note yesterday and read your blog this morning :-) I looked at the birds outside my window at the bird feeder and there was also a Great Tit (Parus major) like the one visiting your garden. Yesterday, a lady brought us four beignets citronelle as a surprise ... She helps me in the garden sometimes in summer and just came by to wish us a Happy New Year. I wish you, dear Vibeke, a happy New Year too!
