Friday
weekend again..
Weekend again....ALREADY!
I have been finishing a couple of knitting projects this week and also started to learn a little bit of sewing from my mother. We have started on making a simple a-line skirt for me in a corduroy fabric, think it will be a nice one. Despite the fact that i have a very good "chemistry" with my dear knitting needles and NOT with the sewing machine i think that i in the long run i will enjoy doing some sewing in between all the knitting i do. Colder days here now, rain and wind together with sun today....in other words quite a "weather mix".
As some of you know i enjoy collecting quotes and a friend gave me this one the other day.
"Vulnerability is not weakness. It is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.
To create is to make something that has never existed before.
There is nothing more vulnerable than that."
-Brenè Brown.
I TOTALY agree with her!...*smiling*...

Very beautiful blog you have. I write on similar lines, sometimes on creativity, sometimes on philosophy. And I love the quote.

Such lovely, knitting and such a wonderful and truthful quote. Interestingly, it often takes courage to be vulnerable in today's world. A celebration, indeed!

I feel exactly the same about my knitting needles v sewing machine!! I have to bite my lip, hold my tongue and exercise a considerable amount of patience every time I use it - yet I don't mind unravelling a slipped stitch and starting again.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend V - gorgeous beret too!
love
xx
ohhh...*sigh*...i am so happy to hear that i am not alone "in this": i too feel like sewing is a HUGE test in patience (that i seem to fail every single time...)...ha-ha...
Deletebut as you say: "slipped stitches and starting over are no problem at all"...i guess we maybe are a little bit strange you and i : )
sending big hugs,
xxxx
