Wonderful nature treasures from sweet Caitriona from Ireland

Yesterday i received a lovely snail mail in my mail box, these wonderful nature treasures from Caitriona who were my swap-person for the nature letter swap i arranged a little while back:
Dried wildflowers from the west of Ireland enclosed in a breeze of soft, gentle rains, dried lavender from Caitrionas garden, a shell from a beach near Dublin, a stone fossil from a beach in Sligo, from the Atlantic Ocean, a piece of turf from the bog in Mayo, a piece of wood that she found in the bog- often these can be thousands of years old, one of her beautiful drawings with a written blessing by our favourite O'Donohue on the back:
The wonder of a garden
Trusting the first warmth of spring
Until its black infinity of cells
Becomes charged with dream;
Then the silent, slow nurture
Of the seed's self, coaxing it
To trust the act of death.
The humility of the Earth
That transfigures all
That has fallen
Of outlived growth.
A beautiful Irish rose soap that i find myself "sniffing" at all the time...*smiling*.......
and the lovliest poster showing a selection of traditional Aran stitches and their meaning,
like the Tree of Life stitching:
"Hope for a long life and many strong sons. Also known as the Fern Stitch."

Thank you so much Caitriona,
i LOVED everything

  1. what a beauteous gift of treasures, and what a lovely page caitriona has.

it is so intimately revealing of a person to be able to see that which they chose to share of themselves through offerings chosen by their own hearts.
