reading day

autumn and winter are my favourite seasons for reading books, it is like the books "tastes" even better this time of year....
i have just started on a book written by the norwegian visual artist barbro raen thomassen. think this is a book that i have to have in my own bookshelf. i am using the library a lot but some books i have to own myself...it is like they become a part of you that you can't part from after finished reading it...
what are you reading on now?

along with the writings the book also contains quotes, pictures and art sketches. one of the quotes referred to are by rilke, i know that i have shared it in here before but i love it so much so here we go again:

“Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves... live everything. Live the question now. Perhaps then, some day far in the future, you will gradually without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”
― Rainer Maria Rilke

  1. Hei min venn.
I dag har jeg en ny bok på min handleliste og skal virkelig ta en titt på boken du leser nå.
Pleier virkelig å like dine annbefallinger.

    Ha en deilig lesedag Vibeke.

    Hei V :-)

    Bless u!

  3. "taste" even better! ☺ it is so cute the way you describe it. i like people with sense of humor. i often use library these days but i am the same way that if i find the book i really love, i would like to keep it in my own shelf. that is something i do too.

  7. Such a hopeful quote. I find it hard to have patience for the answers to come. The way you describe how books feel to you is beautiful, V. That book sounds delightful - books with a mix of things, visual and written are so lovely. I feel you do the same with your blog, that balance, always beautiful.

at the moment I am reading short stories by Alice Munro (Too much Happiness). She's one of my favourite writers. Sometimes she writes a short story that blows me away in its emotion. I highly recommend her.
